We have had a huge issue with audio on the videos so I ended up doing a text to speech version instead.  It’s not great but for now it’s okay if you enable the captions.  In this video we discuss some simple techniques using Smart Volume Spread Analysis software to confirm trade entries for catalyst signals that have a warning from the smart trade advisor.

The moves are pretty extraordinary (even in crazy markets) when using catalysts in a “good spot” as noted by the Smart Trade Adviser.

An update on the Automated Trader Issues(s)  Thanks to a lot of help from a very talented client, the fixes and new feature additions are done. After some final testing I expect to relaunch it by this weekend.  A number of the changes should be unaffected by any new updates Metatrader decides to spring on us going forward as well.

An Interesting Phone Call

Earlier last week a client of ours sent a ticket with some questions about some of the basket articles I’ve written recently.  I called him on the phone to go over them as I often do and while we were on the phone he pointed out a pattern on a longer term chart that he wanted me to look at.  The signal is one I write about a lot and he spotted a great example of it.  I said I would do it (take the trade).  Allen did take that trade and sent a follow-up ticket with some questions and an update on that trade (Chart first) later that week…

Here is the chart he spotted the trade on (Signal #1) I marked off other setups that matched Allen’s and ones that did not that occurred recently:

Catalyst-RUT-No-Trade-Adviser-Warning

The trades were confirmed using the Visual Advisor (Which is used for back testing) that is what the lines are pointing too below the signals.  Blue means no warning existed at the time.  Red means a warning existed.  Pips shown for the older trades are done using the signal to signal method and to be clear were not taken but this chart clearly shows how adept Smart is in so many ways.

GBP Group Trade (Smart Volume Analysis + Catalyst Signal = 555 Pips)

A number of people following along with the Group Trading Account on Twitter asked if I could show a screenshot of the trade I took on the GBP (Basket) which I closed for 555 pips a short while ago.

The trade setup is a favorite of mine and I write about it a lot. It’s notated in the chart screenshot at #1. Trades are all closed and trades initially started on the 6th of Jan.  I am posting this update on Friday the 22 of January.

This was technically 10 trades (Groups) The results are +2566 pips

Major Changes and Updates To Our Support System

rejoicingAnd…  There was much rejoicing.

There are a huge number of improvements over the older support system but some of the main points are… You can now reply to tickets using email without them getting missed!!!  Ticket numbers will display right away (when the ticket is submitted) so there’s no need to go digging for it in an email somewhere.  We have an issue with a RBL block on our support mail server which still needs to be addressed but in the meantime if you don’t get a response within an hour or so (Usually it’ll be much faster) check your email folders and filters.  It’s likely your email client or service ate our reply and it’s waiting for you.

I am going to switch it over live shortly.  It looks a bit more like the new design too.

There is a new FAQ area combined as well which I will be populating as we go.

Basket Trading Using Smart Volume Spread Analysis

Smart Group Trade Entries on EU Index H4

Some recent trade setups using only catalyst signals with no warnings, or minor warnings are taken. These are four hour trades using our simple Four Step Method which you can find on our website (www.smartvsa.com).

Short Trades
1. Smart Volume Analysis Upthrust (Up Bar Upthrust Warning but taken based on other factors including location and VBS)
2. Smart Volume Analysis Upthrust (No Warning)
3. Smart Volume Analysis Upthrust (No Warning)

Long Trades
4. Smart Volume Analysis Smart Buying Signal (No Warning) as shown at right (6)
5. Smart Volume Analysis Reverse Upthrust (No Warning)

6. Current Trade Information Area which includes Smart Volume Analysis Trade Advisor Warnings if any.

7. Smart Volume Analysis Reverse Shakeout (No Warning) This trade was not taken but it was a very good one.

Other trade setups that were also catalysts had warnings I avoid.  Generally location based warnings. If you know what’s possible with baskets you know how these trades went. People that don’t know simply wouldn’t believe it so I’ll just say this… The EURUSD component of a single basket was up over 90 pips on it’s own (There are 7-8 pairs generally in a group trade). This particular trade was taken live for our basic alert service. As some of you know, we’ve had some issues with the automated systems and it’s causing some delays for the release of one and fixes for the other.  If anyone out there is proficient with MT4 and owns Smart perhaps you could help us in diagnosing these issues which is related to a recent mt4 update.  It’s been very frustrating and I am hoping some fresh eyes might spot something we missed.
